'INSUHTBP' Comic Status UpdateHello everyone! I just wanted to update everyone who cares about the comic. I know it's been awhile since the last update, but just know that I'm still working on it. My semester is over, now there is so much time for activities! I have the day off today from work so I'll be spending my day working on the next page ~~and watching the new xbox reveal!!~~ I want to thank you all for being so patient and reading this little comic. I suddenly remembered when I'm studied Fine Art in University and it's so sad to hear most of them were giving a very low perspective on any street artists, saying their art has no content and they were making a thrash.

and now I'm hearing the same old line again, saying I'm making a 'not so high class art' which is I'm a second or maybe third or maybe lower than the ground class artist because I'm doing MANGA art. *blinks*

I love my drawings, you guys enjoyed my drawings what else could I ask for? I love my life.
and if doing Manga will make me a lower class artist, I dun mind at all. LOL
_{at least I tried being original by creating my own style^^}

The problem with the "fine arts" -institutes is, that they want to stamp their students, making them do what they want them to do and for arts sake -that they don´t teach young artists how to make money as an artist is the unspoken rule.
Every emerging artist should pull out of the education what they can, but forget everything useless they teach about the artmarket and make their own way.

I know that in Poland a lot of people go to art universities with open minds and when they finish it most draw/paint similar conceptual pieces that seem empty and uninteresting.
Art is art. Why having a certain style is bad?
I decided long ago: I don't want to do high art, I want to do what is called "only" illustration.

I love drawing Manga too so I think I'm a little offended-- (probably all the Mangaka in the world if they heard). Seriously, they shouldn't judge people with 'High Class' or 'Low Class' or whatever term they use to classify different types of artist/artworks.

Art is defined by the level of fulfillment of the artist and his/her peers. At least, that's what I think of it myself. As long as your art makes you and other people happy-- it's good enough. It's not to be judged by someone else.

Those people may just be insecure since they can't draw manga...

I get the same comments because I do fantasy and character based art. I've been told it's not real art many times. It is ILLUSTRATION and that doesn't classify as fine art. Just try and ignore them and move on, we all know better, you are amazingly talented.

I like anime style artwork too and I like to draw like that but I was also concern about this style being considered as lower class. Other artists and yes my former teachers consider it to be a kiddish, weak and unprofessional for illustration.

I don't understand why because it can look very good and even rival those of realism and others depending on the skill of the artist.

I wonder if it's okay for an illustrator who uses the anime style to showcase their skill in a portfolio when applying for a job is it? I'm guessing not but I like to know what you guys think.

I got that from my teachers all throughout high school. Even the art teacher at my community college said the same thing. Don't let that get you down. My art teacher in high school had even told me to just quit art all together and "try to find something I'm actually good at." I almost did.

If I was an artist I would want my art to be appreciated by as many people as possible while I was still alive, rather than after I'm dead just because I can't draw anymore. And besides it doesn't get any higher class for me than hot guys!!!! hehehe
