I bet Trowa, even more than any of the others, would love to gain wings. I imagine his wings have a hawk or golden eagle style in coloring but I'm curious to what you, the artist, saw as you drew this. I really like the threading, stitches and seams, you always manage to make the clothing really feel like it is real.
THIS IS... My first OTP... (Trowa x Quatre) *oh the happy sigh. Even 13 years later I still get all gooey over Trowa. I had no idea you had drawn GW stuff before. Your Trowa is A-freaking-mazing!
Hey, 3x4 is totally canon. Even in that horrible, horrible fanfic called the sequel (that is terrible and makes NO FREAKING SENSE RARW!!) it's canon. I'd go so far as to say 3x4x3 is the most canon of all Gundam pairings. haha
Oh most definitely... don't forget the title of their instrumental Violin/Flute duet is entitled "Heart-Throbbing Harmony". The Japanese left no doubt that 3x4 is canon.
Not to mention every pilot has a female counterpart that is implied they can have a romantic connection with (even if I prefer slashing, I can admit to the obvious):
Heero - Relena (Not a Fan, but it is really implied heavily.) Duo - Hilde (This works for me, Hilde was pretty cool and spunky.) Wufei - Sally (This is also good for me, the potential for volatile chemistry is here.) Zechs - Noin (Even if I like 13x6 better.) Treize - Une (Even if I prefer 13x6 instead of 13x11 just because Une is freaking split personality here!)
Now who Do Quatre and Trowa have?
Quatre - Dorothy (Um, she sort of shisk-kabobed him with a rapier! Yeah, NO!) Trowa - Catherine (Um SISTER!!! For real, Episode Zero confirms this, with revealing Trowa's real name is Triton Bloom and this is just INCEST on a stick to pair these two.)
So who else do these two have but each other in the series? No one. All their image songs also have lyrics that imply relationships with each other. So yeah, people who say 3x4 isn't canon, you're all on crack and denying the obvious in favor of something resembling homophobia. I admit the obvious potential het pairings, you have to admit to the obvious slash pairing.
Eh, the creator himself said that Relena x Heero wasn't a thing, though it was painfully pushed it seemed (ick). And Duo treats Hilde like a sister. I'm cool with Wufei x Sally but I'd much rather Wufei x Meiran (Why oh why wasn't she utilized in the series?! so much wasted potential) Zechs x Noin... seemed rather onesided on Noin's part, but I could by it. Same with Treize x Une, although Une is more of a fanatical follower haha, but Treize seemed to realize that and manipulated it just right. I agree that Quatre and Dorothy wouldn't work at all, he didn't really seem to feel anything beyond contempt for her which was hilarious, and Dorothy seems to have a crush on Relena. And Catherine is just made of win.
But female characters weren't really Gundam W's strong point. Such a pity.
Um, who are you replying too? I don't think I made any indication that I don't think of 3x4 as anything but cannon. Kinda aggressive there friend, no body has argued with you here. Cool your fan-girling.
Oh it was a generality in commenting about 3x4 and the typical arguments you see employed against it. It wasn't directed at you, was just speaking to you about it. Sorry if you thought I was being aggressive that wasn't my intent. I could tell I was "preaching to the choir" so to speak. I wasn't arguing just making conversation, so sorry if you read it or it came across otherwise.
I do agree with all your comments about the female characters, potential lost, but that was really typical of anime in the 1990s, the women were typically not all that three dimensional and were two dimensional plot devices. There were rare exceptions, like Catherine and Sally Po but the others sort of gave their power away to men (like Noin) to the male counterparts. I much prefer to slash the bajeebers out of GW.
But again sorry if it came across other than I intended, just conversation about something I've been a fan of since it came out in '95. That's all.
